Sway on the highway can make any trip stressful, but this system’s integrated 2-point sway control keeps everything steady. It uses specific tension points and steel-on-steel friction to limit side-to-side movement caused by wind or passing trucks. The rigid trunnion-bar setup and sway control brackets hold the trailer in line, so you don’t have to fight the wheel when conditions get rough. It’s a built-in design, so there’s no need for extra sway bars or separate attachments.
If your trailer’s tongue weight is pushing down the back of your vehicle, this setup fixes it. The trunnion-style spring bars apply leverage to evenly distribute weight over all axles, giving both your tow vehicle and trailer a level, stable ride. Rated for 800 lbs – 1,200 lbs of tongue weight and up to 12,000 lbs gross towing weight, it’s ready for serious hauling while keeping handling predictable and smooth.
Getting the right tilt can take forever on some hitches, but here it’s easy. The system head uses a built-in pivot point to set your desired angle—no washers required. You can dial in the proper tension quickly and get on the road without stacking hardware or making trial-and-error tweaks.
Every component on this system is forged steel for long-term strength and rigidity. The included 2-5/16" hitch ball, 2" × 2" adjustable shank, sway control brackets, spring bars, snap-up handle, and all pins, clips, and hardware come right in the box. The black carbide powder coat finish resists corrosion, so it stays looking good and performing strong through years of use.
Backing into tight camp spots or driveways doesn’t require any special steps. Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this CURT TruTrack Two-Point Trunnion Weight Distribution System with Weight Control. Now, this system is gonna help create a more stable ride for your tow vehicle and your trailer. Adding spring bars to your towing system is going to help apply leverage, which is going to transfer the load that is pushing down on the rear of your vehicle to all of the axles on both your tow vehicle and your trailer. That's gonna result in an even distribution of weight throughout. So as you can see on the graphic that I have on the screen there for you, that first picture there on the left, that's a typical setup without weight distribution.
Everything is pressing down on the back of your vehicle. And so you look uneven there in the back, everything is pushing down in the back. But with the weight distribution, as you can see on the picture on the front, everything is going to be nice and level. So that's gonna be good for your trailer, good for your vehicle, and it's going to help you get a smooth and level ride, as well as the ability to tow the maximum capacity of your trailer hitch receiver. The integrated two-point sway control is gonna limit side to side movement of your trailer, and these brackets are going to keep the spring bars in place for a rigid system that's gonna hold your trailer in line.
The steel-on-steel friction's gonna help minimize sway caused by winds or sudden maneuvers. And if you notice, there's no lift chains with this system, so that's gonna eliminate unwanted movement of these spring bars. Now, this is designed for your two-inch trailer hitch receiver rated for use with weight distribution systems. The tongue weight is gonna be from 800 to 1,200 pounds and the maximum gross towing weight is 12,000 pounds. Now, the tongue weight rating is the most important factor in determining which size weight distribution system that you should use.
For instance, if the bars of the system that you choose are rated too high for your setup, then that's gonna create a rigid ride, which can result in a bouncing trailer. On the other hand, if the bars are not rated high enough, then the system is gonna be unable to properly distribute the weight, and it's gonna be virtually useless to you. So, to determine the proper weight rating for a weight distribution system, you must first determine your trailer's tongue weight and then add the weight of your cargo behind the rear axle of your tow vehicle. And those two measurements are going to make up the tongue weight rating for your weight distribution system. Now, the desired tilt is easily achieved by using the pivot point on the system head, so no more piling on washer after washer.
And let me go back out to my wide view here real quick. I have the hardware loose here, so that's going to allow me to tilt this as needed. And then once I have that appropriate tilt for my particular application, I'll just tighten down this hardware. So that's how simple this is going to be to get that tilt that you're looking for. Now, the shank is a seven-hole shank and the overall height is gonna be right at about 9 1/2 inches tall. The holes are spaced at 1 1/4 inches apart. These no-drill clamp-on brackets are gonna mount directly to your trailer's frame. And then this is going to work with a trailer, the trailer frame dimensions with a maximum height of six inches and a maximum width of four inches. And these trunnion-style spring bars are gonna work with the brackets to transfer tongue weight evenly to tow the vehicle. These are constructed of forage steel, and they're secured, if you notice here, in the system head with these easy-to-use snap pins. So these are gonna be very easy to remove from the head when you're ready. This is a black carbide powder coat finish, so it's durable, it's corrosion-resistant. It's gonna hold up really well for you. It's not some kind of cheap finish. It looks like it's a very premium finish, so I think it's gonna hold up really well for you. And this system includes everything that you see here. You're obviously going to get the head assembly, the two-inch shank, the spring bars, the sway control brackets, the snap up handle to get your bars into place, the 2 5/16-inch hitch ball, the pins and clips, and all the necessary hardware to put this together. And as you can see, I do have this loosely put together, just kind of give you an idea of what it's going to look like when it is indeed put together. Great Hitch. Exactly what I needed
Haven't had it on the road yet, but I believe it will serve the intended purpose just fine. Knocking off a star for the spotty assembly instructions, and one for the absurdly fragile grease zerks, both of which snapped off after the initial lubrication. It was an easy fix provided you have a small screw extractor and spare zerks, but should not happen. I called customer service to get clarity on the instructions, and Jake was very helpful, but a phone call shouldn't be required. I can clearly see that the instructions were written by someone with good knowledge of the product, and they simply glossed over some is important details which a first time installer should know.

Product is well constructed and is easy to install. Only have used it a short distance but definitely feel the difference in my trucks front end to the road. As always, etrailer was quick with order fill and delivery especially over a holiday.
I bought this system to use for my motorhome towing our race car trailer. It is the usual Curt excellent quality and works great. Just what was needed for this job.
etrailer did a fantastic job with getting my order shipped out on time. UPS on the other hand not so good my package was 3 days late because they had the package but for some reason couldn’t find it.
